Youth group tour a pawsitive experience for Brownie Unit

In News & Media by FMSPCA Support

This April, the Fort McMurray SPCA welcomed Brownie Unit #14 to the shelter for a group tour. Led by the FMSPCA Kennel team, the Brownies enjoyed a visit to the cat room where they were able to leave notes for the resident cats on the Kitty Comment Board. The girls were then able to visit the FMSPCA Dog Park where they enjoyed time with Caramel and Bronx. Throughout the tour, children and youth are able to learn about how to care for animals, more about the region’s only local animal shelter and interact with animals which enriches the experience both for the participants and the animals in our care. 14th Unit Brownie Leader Silvie Miller said of their tour of the shelter “this opportunity was a great experience for our girls to learn about animals, how to care for a pet and was a great opportunity for the animals to get loved on! Thank you Fort McMurray SPCA for having our Brownie Unit – this field trip was a highlight of our year!”
