Animal Safe Haven Program (ASH)

ASH Program

The Animal Safe Haven (ASH) Program was created to provide temporary homes to animals that are part of families fleeing abusive and violent situations; victims of crime; individuals facing homelessness; or for those who, for physical or mental health reasons, are unable to provide care while hospitalized.

Providing a safe haven for companion animals of families on the road to recovery.

For up to 30 days, companion animals are cared for by shelter staff, with all food and supplies being provided during their stay. Updates for families are provided by our Program Coordinator as needed to aid in the road to recovery and safety. With the support from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, we are proud to work with referring agencies such as Waypoints to help provide a safe haven for companion animals that need it.
