Pet Food Bank

A key to our success in creating a safe and caring communities are joint initiatives which allow the FMSPCA, in partnership, to provide a wide variety of essential services with greater positive impact for the region as a whole. Such programs include The Pet Food Bank created in cooperation with the Wood Buffalo Food Bank whereby food bank clients are provided with pet food for their companion animals in order to assist families and individuals in caring for their pets and contributing as a preventative measure to companion animals becoming homeless.

In 2016:

Between September and December over 290 companion animals from WBFB clients were assisted and over 21,900 pounds of pet food was provided to pet owners and families in need. All supplies are donated to the program to help those in need to keep companion animals with their families whenever possible.
