(Fort McMurray, February 25, 2019) The Fort McMurray SPCA (FMSPCA) hosted their annual Pawsitively Sweet Treats Day fundraiser on February 14, 2019. Volunteer bakers and community hosts across the region were invited to help raise much needed funds for companion animals who have been abused, abandoned or are in need of shelter and a forever home.

With the help of 24 volunteer bakers contributed over 1,500 baked goods for the sale with 14 community hosts conducting their own bake sales while raising funds for our cause. Residents were also invited to stop by the shelter to visit and purchase treats by donation for family, friends and their loved ones.

We would like to thank all of our volunteer bakers and all of our community host locations: Mix 103.7 and Cruz FM, Early Start Learning Centre, RMWB Planning Department, Microtel Inn and Suites, Bouchier Group, Bumper to Bumper, Raw King Pet Supplies, Printing Unlimited, Proserve Restoration and Cleaning Services, Fort McMurray Dart League, RMWB S.O.C Location, Trapped, Enbridge and Original Joes.

All funds raised from the fundraiser will go towards the rehabilitation and care of present and future homeless animals in need. If you would like to be added to the 2020 Pawsitively Sweet Treats Day communications list please email Misty Schad Programs Coordinator at programs@fortmcmurrayspca.ca
