Fort McMurray SPCA announces departure of Executive Director

Outgoing Executive Director Tara Clarke with the 2017/2018 Board of Directors.

The Fort McMurray SPCA has announced the departure of Executive Director Tara Clarke who has led the organization over the last 6 years as of June 12, 2017.

“The Board of Directors and staff at the Fort McMurray SPCA would like to share our heartfelt thanks to Tara who provided steadfast leadership to the organization and guided the shelter and its staff through the 2016 wildfire with extraordinary perseverance and dedication to our community,” said George Rowe, FMSPCA Board of Directors President.

The Fort McMurray SPCA has asked Operations Manager, Misha Gaertner to serve as Acting Executive Director as they undertake the process to secure new leadership for the organization that has been serving as the region’s only animal shelter since 1978.

“We wish Tara all the best as she embarks on her new adventure in Ontario,” said Rowe.
