A Message From Our Board Chair

As the regions only animal shelter, the Fort McMurray Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has been advocating for animal welfare since 1978.

Over the years we have welcomed over 25,000 animals, provided medical treatment, spay/neuters, emergency surgeries, rehabilitation, and a second chance at a new forever home. We continue to develop programs that not only help enrich the lives of animals but also the people in our region.

It is our priority to create long lasting relationships within our rural communities to provide wellness clinics, spay/neuter clinics and assistance with intake of animals.

Without volunteers, adopters, fundraising events, bottle drives and donations, we could not do what we do, provide a second chance for animals.

We are forever thankful to our stakeholders who continue to support our events and allow us to enhance our operation programs for animals in our care.

Thank you to The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo for our continued partnership, we continue to focus on our Strategic plan to save lives and provide enrichments to animals while in our care.
